Condamine Bell - ring of the bush

This pottery Condamine Bell was cast from an original SW Jones Bell made between 1868 and 1912. It is filled with 750 ml of tawny port and are exclusive to Riversands.

The first Condamine Bells were made by Samuel Williams Jones, Blacksmith, of Condamine following requests by drovers and teamsters for a ‘good tough bell that could be heard a long way off’. They were hung around the neck of their bullocks and horses to keep track of them.

S.W.Jones first used old cross cut saw blades to make this distinctive shaped bell. The bells produce a unique bullfrog sound that ‘carries for miles’.
