Fred Brophy's Boxing boots - an Aussie legend
Fred Brophy: fourth generation showman, master of the crowds, leader of the Boxing Troupe. A born storyteller, Fred has led a colourful life surviving rounds with venomous snakes, spiders, shotguns and knives. Cracow Hotel in Central Queensland is the base for Fred Brophy and his wife Sandi.
Fred’s original Levi boots have served him well as he’s travelled with the troupe around Australia. His famous Boxing Troupe is the last of its kind in Australia and has entertained at shows and festivals since 1980. With his trademark shiny red shirt and booming drum Fred draws challengers from the crowd to take on the likes of the Birdsville Mauler and Kid Valentine.
The laced up boots of legendary boxing troupe showman Fred Brophy join the Riversands shoe rack along side predecessors Barnaby Joyce, Tom Kruse, Edna Jessops and the original Wobbly Boot.
