Riversands Wines is winner of the ‘Tourism and Hospitality’ category and recipient of the prestigious ‘Overall Best Business’ award, presented at the Balonne Shire Business Excellence Awards in October.

About the awards:

Organised by the Rotary Club of St George and Balonne Shire Council and sponsored by many generous businesses, the Balonne Business Excellence Awards are an opportunity to recognise successful local businesses.

Our contribution to tourism:

You may have seen us at one of the 30 country and metropolitan shows a year we attend, representing not just Riversands, but promoting the Shire as a whole.  We also forge bonds with local tourism operators to increase length of stay. This has been a contributing factor to the Shire's tourism growth

What our win means for you:

You may have noticed lots of positive developments at Riversands recently. “Over the past year we have increased our focus on electronic marketing with a new Ecommerce website and regular E Newsletter. These media are used to promote our cellar door, mail order service, events and our growing number of retail outlets,” says David Blacket. Our newsletter is an excellent way to stay in touch - make sure you're a recipient!

“We’ve also established signature events - such as Jazz Boots & Blues, hosted international accordion virtuoso Kimmo, and redefined our brand through new imagery and new products. One unique way we have grown our business is by introducing our wines as a satellite cellar door outlet to boutique outlets such as butcher shops, fruit shops and to Maleny Cheese. This is in addition to being represented at 60 bottle shops and restaurants,” enthuses David. We're sure you'll find an outlet near you!
