Chicken Dancing Senator Gives the Boots at Riversands
Boot clad Senator Barnaby Joyce and the ABC’s Four Corners entourage swept across the dance floor during Riversands Jazz Boots & Blues in St George; with Barnaby clucking and flapping his way through the chicken dance with his family for a bit of frivolous fun.
Having his own boots immortalised in pottery and filled with port in the Riversands pottery range, local Senator Barnaby was the perfect choice as guest judge for the Best Boots Competition.
With a pair of Barnaby’s own port filled pottery boots up for grabs, ladies and gents came dressed to impress.
Matthew King, Millmerran, took home the prize for Best Male boots. Barnaby’s wife Natalie put her own twist on the competition and was ‘looking not just the boots, but the whole package.’ Barnaby chose Brisbane resident Teena Dickson and her eye catching pink snakeskin print butterfly boots as the ladies winner. “My boots are actually borrowed from my daughter. She brought them in London at the Camden markets, where all the punk rockers go. It was a great day, we had a ball,” Teena says.
