Ever tasted a GOLD MEDAL wine?

Chances are, you have - if you've enjoyed Riversands Vineyards champion dry white wine, Beardmore’s Dry

Gold Medal - Cowra Wine Show.

“The 2008 vintage of Riversands Beardmore’s Dry, made predominantly from Sauvignon Blanc grapes, has been particularly successful. Its’ racked up an impressive seven awards in competition since its release last 2008, and now a Gold medal at the Cowra Wine Show,” says Riversands Marketing Manager Dana Gluzde.

Judges were impressed by the gooseberry and citrus notes combining on a tangy palate.

"... off the beaten track..."

St George is a little off the beaten track as far as a traditional wine grape growing area. We’re hoping this award will continue to wave the flag for Queensland wines and alternative wine grape growing regions,” continues Dana.

Beardmore - The name behind the wine:

The winning Sauvignon Blanc wine, Beardmore’s Dry, was named in honour of local politician Eddie Beardmore who contributed to the St George irrigation project.

Although a teetotaller himself, it was Eddie’s dry sense of humour that led Riversands to name this wine after him.
