Winter down the paddock
They say, out of adversity comes opportunity. So it's been here. The floods created plenty of havoc, but we're using that to our advantage.
| Quite a few trellis posts (the ones that are up and down every row) needed replacing after the floods. The ground swelled whcih has caused some of the posts to dislodge and lean over. So we thought 'while we're fixing the posts, let's take the opportunity to plant some new vines.' |  |
 | You might be fooled into thinking the vines all look a bit dead at the moment. The truth is they go into dormancy during the Winter. The leaves change from green to gold and eventually fall off. Next week the pruning team arrives! Backpackers and travellers from around the world converge on the vines and begin cutting out last years canes, leaving the newest ones to wrap down like our backpacker shows here. Want a job? |
