St George Cotton Vineyard farm tours
If you are visiting St George between May and September on Thursday of each week we offer you a visit to a local cotton farm combined with a full vineyard tour. The tours are popular amongst tourists, families, industry groups and farmers. The tours showcase our irrigated agriculture and combine entertainment and education with food and wine! One of the best value tours in the country!
One of our prominent local cotton farmers will host you on their farm. On tour you will learn about cotton planting, growing, irrigation, harvesting and marketing. You can ask anything about cotton production and water management!
On the second part of the tour to Riversands Vineyards we take you through a journey on table and wine grape growing. We cover vineyard pruning, shoot thinning, irrigation, nutrition, and grape picking.
Afterward, we give you a full wine tasting including wine appreciation and tips on how we make our wines!
You will be well fed with cheese platters or pumpkin soup for entree, gourmet sandwiches for mains and slice for dessert. You can purchase our wine packs during the lunch break.
Allow 4 hours for the tour (10 am- 2 pm). The tour costs $50 cash per head. Half price for school-age children and no charge for pre-schoolers. We need a minimum of 12 people. We can run the tour on days other than Thursday by special arrangement provided we get the minimum numbers.
