The Wine Wench’s Riversands Recommendations

Thank you to the Wine Wench for reviewing some of our new vintages of red wines. Check out what she had to say about our Shriaz, Merlot, or Red Moscato!

Shiraz, Merlot, or Red Moscato - which one would you dive into first?

Riversands Winery is Queensland's most westerly winery! It's a family-run operation, with the Blackets raising their vineyard and their family on the land since 1996. The vineyard is best known for its fortified wines, but their range of table wines are just as delicious. See my tasting notes & food pairings on these three wines below.

Red Moscato

Lightly sweet wine made from black muscat grapes, with aromas of red berries & cherry. Juicy, mouthwatering and moreish.

Best enjoyed chilled with spicy pepperoni pizza bites.

Shiraz

Inky and deep with spicy red fruit, bright pepper, savoury dried herbs, liquorice and grippy tannins.

Best enjoyed with a chargrilled steak sandwich and crunchy duck fat chips.

Merlot

Light, fruity and succulent. You'll find plenty of mulberry, dark fruit and toasty oak.

Best enjoyed with a cheese & charcuterie board - make sure there's plenty of cheddar and blue cheese.
