St George Region

Welcome to the Outback

St George is considered the gate to the great Australian outback. With our historic Aussie pubs and homesteads, to expansive sky and endless fields of crops, St George is a place to experience.

Here you can enjoy a walk along the Balonne river, explore one of the two national parks, visit one of the many dams that support our agriculture, or chat to some locals at a cafe or pub. This is a place to slow down and immerse yourself in country life.

We suggest making your first stop at the St George Region Visitor Information Centre in the heart of town. Here, the friendly staff will point you in the best places to see, eat and stay based on your interest.

Centre Hours: M – F 8.30am – 4.30pm Weekends/Public Holidays: 9.00am – 1.00pm.

Hours may vary out of season. The address is 114 St George’s Terrace, St George – 07 4620 8877
