St George Heritage Tour

On this 4 hour guided tour you will hear about our rich heritage where we profile the town’s history and flood stories on a town tour. We then visit the Anchorage Homestead built in 1903 where the owners will share its history and restoration journey, and delight in morning tea on the Anchorage’s sweeping verandas.

On the second part of the tour to Riversands Vineyards we share our journey on table and wine grape growing. We cover vineyard pruning, shoot thinning, irrigation, nutrition and grape picking.

Afterwards, we give you a full wine tasting and you will be well fed with a 3 course lunch of local pumpkin soup for entree, gourmet sandwiches for mains and slice for dessert. 

The details

• Tours depart from 9.00 am every Tuesday, May to September, or on demand (minimum 12 people required).
• Pick up from 9.00 am onwards at the Pelican Rest, Kamarooka, Rivergum Tourist Park and the Visitor Information Centre.
• Tours will return by 2:00 PM.
• Cost: $50 per person. 
• Morning tea and lunch is provided.
